When it comes to luxurious surroundings and unsurpassed service, the first place that enters my mind is The Broadmoor Resort. Nestled at the southern base of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, this spectacular destination is the longest-running consecutive winner of both the AAA Five-Diamond and Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star awards.

The Broadmoor has been a family vacation tradition of ours every summer spanning 4 generations. Some of my most amazing memories were built on their property and it holds a very special place in my heart. It is where my sister exchanged her wedding vows in front of over 200 guests, it is where I rang in the Millennium New year and so much more…

The Broadmoor offers activities for everyone and every age, if your passion is golf, enjoy the 3 championship courses totaling 54 holes available during your stay. More of a tennis fan? Visit their award-winning tennis facilities, which include cushioned hard courts and Har-Tru courts. An illuminated, heated bubble covers two of the hard courts during the winter months, allowing for year-round enjoyment. Looking for more of a back to nature activity? Check out horseback riding, fly-fishing, rock climbing, the list goes on!

They even offer a children’s camp for the younger guests ranging in age from 3-12 known as the “Bee Bunch”, with qualified counselors and age appropriate games, crafts, movies, outdoor fun and field trips.

I now escape there with my dog to experience the five-star spa accommodations, sensational restaurants and reminisce about a much simpler time when feeding the ducks, paddle boating across the lake with my Grandmother and partaking in a double scoop of peppermint ice cream at Julie’s was what I had in store for the day. While there have been many changes over the years, and Julie’s is now a Vegan restaurant, the integrity and standards that built this one-of-a kind property remain the same.

The resort caters to guests year round and offers an array of packages ranging from romantic couples getaways, ladies wellness weekends, golf & tennis packages, numerous holiday celebrations and corporate retreats on all of their properties. However, I am partial to late spring and summer months when golf is in full swing, you can take in the mesmerizing landscape while lounging by one of their many pools and the energy is both calming and exhilarating at the same time.I count the days until my next visit and will forever cherish the time I have spent there in the past…
