There are so many amazing trends that are popping up for the Spring and Summer 2016 season. From strappy sandals to chunky heels, there is a lot to see from all of the top designers. Here are just a few of my favorites for this season.

Textured Sheers

We already saw that sheer fabrics, layers and cutouts were a big trend in women’s clothing for Spring and Summer 2016 on the runways of New York Fashion Week. Shoes are following this same trend. Look at these hot platform wedges from Anna Sui. The sheer lace sock is combined with a boldly patterned sandal for a surprising pattern combo that is right in step with this season’s hottest trends.

Rodarte also had a similar combo on their runway collection, with a sheer, textured stocking and chunky peep-toe heel.

Jimmy Choo certainly nailed this trend with a gorgeous selection of strappy sandals paired with sheer lace.

Straps and More Straps

There are a lot of shoes featuring straps this season. Here is an example of a white, pointy pump from Derek Lam.

Valentino went gladiator with a strappy black sandal and chunky low heel.

I find these black sandals from Alberta Ferretti especially stunning. They have artfully meshed the cutout trend for 2016 with a strappy gladiator flat.

Chunky Booties

Look at this bootie from Greg Lauren for an example of a hot spring bootie for 2016. Not all weather is ideal for sandals and open-toed pumps. So, when the weather is a little chilly with spring, booties are the perfect solution. These could be paired with a skirt, skinny jeans or a Capri pant. The texture added to these shoes makes them softer and more interesting.

Coach also showed off a cute patchwork bootie with a low, chunky heel. When you need something a little warmer for jumping through puddles and keeping your toes cozy in the office, the bootie is the perfect solution. I’m loving these cute, versatile booties that work with so many styles.

Throw-Back Slides

This feels very similar to the clog trend from hippie days and then again from the 90s. There were chunky clogs from Eckhaus Latta and then the sneaker slip-on from Tommy Hilfiger.

Victoria Beckham even had several models wearing a loafer style slipper with the back crushed down like a clog.

So, what shoes will you be adding to your wardrobe for this season? Hopefully you find the perfect pair (or ten) that are versatile and stunning, perfectly matching your personality so you can show your inner class to the world!
