As a movie buff, I love nothing more than sitting at home, cuddled up on my couch, with a large bowl of my favorite popcorn and hitting the play button. With so many options when it comes to movies, I wanted to give you an opportunity to see why I think Netflix is the best choice. First of all, you don’t have to worry about getting all dressed up, finding movie times, arranging a meeting party and trying to find a seat in a sold out theater. Second, you don’t have to worry about late fees if you forget to return a movie in time. Finally, Netflix is perfect because they offer one of the cheapest ways to get entertainment out on the market.

So how does Netflix work? You have plenty of options when it comes to your plan type. If you like to plan your movie nights, and enjoy queuing up your movie list, then the movies by mail service would work perfect for you. You can peruse your movie choices at any time, queue up the movies you want, and even order them based on your preference of when you want them to arrive. The great thing about using the mail service, is that you get that nice little surprise in the mailbox when it arrives. It feels like a mini birthday party! Another way to make the most use out of Netflix is to opt in for the real time streaming service. I personally find this option the best, because when I’m in the mood for a movie, I don’t want to waste time searching, queuing up my list, then waiting 2 to 3 days before I can get my fix. With so many online categories to choose from, you will no doubt find a movie that you either haven’t seen before, or one that you love and could watch time and time again.

One of the great benefits of using Netflix, and conveniences of the online version, is that it works with just about every modern device. If you have a smart DVD or blue-ray player, most are built in with WiFi services to connect you to your programs. I personally use my PlayStation 3 as a hub for movies, games and entertainment. The overall interface is one to get use to, and I will say that they could invest a little time and money to make it more responsive and intuitive, however, if you know a movie title you can bypass all the extras and do a direct search to find your movie right away. Keep in mind that the streaming bandwidth needed to watch a movie uninterrupted is a bit demanding, so you will want to make sure that your network is setup to maximize your streaming capabilities. One piece of advice, if you are experiencing lag or buffering times, then turn off any other wireless devices to help boost your signal strength. This can be the difference between a smooth uninterrupted movie experience, and a choppy poor experience.

Over the years, Netflix has grown into a powerhouse for in home entertainment, and they offer some of the best new releases, combined with Netflix Originals that rival some of the top networks. Another beauty of enjoying your at home entertainment is that most of the time if you are looking for a series, you will not only find one of the current seasons, but all the previous seasons, giving you hours and hours of time to enjoy your favorite television show. Shows such as Breaking Bad, Supernatural, X-files, and so much more are right at your fingertips when you want them! So if you have not considered the modern technology of at home entertainment, I would encourage you to explore the opportunities.
