From strips to swabs it seems as though there is a quick fix to help us all in our quest for pearly whites. Over the years I have tried everything available to rid my teeth of the stains I have managed to acquire due to smoking, coffee, soda and wine. I have personally used whitening toothpastes, bleaching swabs, whitening pens, strips, gels and I even purchased a home “light” system guaranteed to brighten those puppies up! (No, it did not work). However, when it came to the over the counter and online purchases, the swabs gave me the best results. The strips, gels and pens made my teeth much more sensitive than I expected. Granted, I knew there would be some increase in sensitivity, I just didn’t think it would be as harsh as I happened to experience. I am also an immediate gratification type of gal, so the lingering anticipation was not for me.

I had heard about Zoom Teeth Whitening many times and told myself that when I quit smoking I would definitely give it a try. I felt spending $39.00 on some teeth whitening strips was justifiable while I was still abusing them, but to invest anywhere from $250.00 to $350.00 deserved a bigger commitment. I read review after review and the only thing that raised an eyebrow were these “zingers” people kept referring to after the treatment. A few people described them as sharp pains shooting through the nerve endings of your teeth, but they were only temporary and lasted a second or two. I also noticed the individuals who had experienced the “zingers” could not even sit through the whole treatment because their teeth were so sensitive. Whereas for me, from start to finish, I didn’t feel the least bit uncomfortable. http://www.realself.com/Zoom-teeth-whitening/reviews

When I booked the treatment my dentist described in detail the process and what I could expect in regards to the results. I was told impressions would be made of my mouth for bleach trays that I would need to wear for 2 hours a day following the treatment for 14 days. The actual treatment would last about an hour and consist of 3 fifteen-minute sessions under the “Zoom” light with high intensity gel.

I arrived for my session, they walked me through each step and everything went off without a hitch. However, afterwards I wore the trays every other day for about 20 minutes instead of the suggested 2 hours a day for 14 days. My teeth were white enough at that point, so I was fine. I have not had any discomfort or “zingers” and I am beyond pleased with the results.
